Training and Qualifications

Training is to practitioner level, giving you a thorough grounding in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Hypnoanalysis. You will receive sound practical training in the management of the hypnotic state through the application of ego-enhancing methods, suggestion therapy and hypnoanalytical techniques.

The training course combines extensive supervised practical 'hands-on' experience as well as distance learning and is validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. This course is also an Approved Training Course of the National Council of Psychotherapists.

During your training you will undergo several sessions of hypnoanalysis as part of the practical stage of the course. This ensures that you not only gain insight into what your clients will experience, but you will also reach a deeper understanding of yourself. You will gain extensive theoretical knowledge, practical experience and confidence in your ability to provide investigative hypnoanalytical methods and therapeutic techniques for specific problems. Students practise hypnotherapy techniques on each other from the first day of the course. Placements are limited to ensure individual tuition and supervision.

Before the course commences I will send you notes that should be read before you attend your first training session. These notes will help you understand the theory of hypnosis and enhance your practical experience. The practical training takes place over seven weekends. During these weekends we will focus on the practical side of hypnosis, gaining the skills and the confident to work with clients.

Between our fortnightly tutorials you will have ample time to read your new notes and begin some case studies. This is a great time to jot down any questions that arise from your reading or your case studies. I will be available for telephone mentoring during this time should you have any problems or questions. There will be scheduled telephone question and answer calls between each practical tutorial. You will be asked to write a short essay between sessions three and four, and five and six.

We will focus on both suggestion therapy as well as analytical therapy. We will look at Past Life Regression as an analytical tool. You don’t have to believe in past lives to gain benefits from this therapy. During our practical sessions you will have plenty of time for instruction and discussion.

When your training weekends have been completed you will continue with your case studies, reading and research. When your case studies are concluded you will be sent an open book exam to be completed at home. Throughout the course you will undergo continuous assessment. Again, I will be available to help you during this time and will act as your mentor until you are comfortable and confident with your new skills. Further telephone sessions will be scheduled as part of your review.
